In early life he made a profession of religion, joining the Lutheran
Church. He later united with the Methodist Church and lived the full
measure of his profession, often repeating "my cup is running over,"
until the hand of death was laid upon him. He was a farmer and farmed his
father's farm, then later bought a farm in Knox Co. near Amity, where he
lived and farmed until his death July 2, at the age of 46 yrs., 8 mos.,
and 11 days. The Master called him, and he peacefully stepped across the
dark river of death to a brighter world beyond. He was an affectionate
husband, a kind father, a loving brother, and an obliging neighbor. Four
children were born to this union, Ora, Zella, Philip, an d Roy. George
and his wife and three deceased children are all buried in Workman
Cemetery at Danville, Ohio.
So the multitude goes, like the flower and the weed, That wither away to let other succeed To the life we are clinging to. George too did cling. But it sped from the earth like a bird on the wing. Emp: teacher, Jelloway and Amity district; administrator (HS), 1925-1935
